Osmaniye Open-Air Museum

At Outdoor Factory, the Osmaniye Open-Air Museum, brought to life from design to execution, is a meaningful museum design project that preserves Turkey's history of heroism. Located in Osmaniye, one of the provinces with the highest number of martyrs in the fight against terrorism, this special project presents not only local heroes but also the shared values of all of Turkey through a monumental narrative.

The project strongly reflects the national memory through its conceptual layout, featuring martyr figures marching toward and merging with the flag in the ceremony area, the Grand National Assembly (Gazi Meclisi) opening with prayers, and inspiration drawn from Commander-in-Chief Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's historic speech. Through detailed dioramas, visitors are offered an emotionally charged experience that honors key figures, such as the heroism of Tayyar Rahime Hatun (Rahime Onbaşı), the soldiers from Osmaniye who fell in the Korean War, and Halil İbrahim Karaoğlanoğlu, who lost his life in the Cyprus Peace Operation.

Standing out in the fields of open-air museum design, monument architecture, and experiential museum projects, this work reflects Outdoor Factory’s vision of keeping cultural heritage alive, transforming Osmaniye into a profound point of commemoration and gathering.
