At Outdoor Factory, the Çam & Sakura Metro Station is an original urban design project that symbolizes the city hospitals across Turkey. Inspired by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s vision of “a city hospital for every city,” the station offers a city square experience, blending themes of health, life, and sustainability with architecture.

The design takes reference from the tree species native to the regions where city hospitals are located, with the life-symbolizing Çam (Pine) and Sakura (Cherry Blossom) trees positioned at the center of the space in massive forms. Artistic sculptures, specially painted reliefs, and experience-oriented installations offer a holistic atmosphere that raises healthy living awareness for passengers. Standing out with its high-ceiling architecture, a modern roofing system that floods the space with daylight, and a minimalist design language, the Çam & Sakura Hospital Metro Station ranks among the model projects worldwide in the fields of subway station design, experiential architecture, and thematic transportation projects.
