At Outdoor Factory, we brought an award-winning experience project to life at the Theodosius Cistern (Şerefiye Sarnıcı), located in Istanbul's historical peninsula and built during the reign of Byzantine Emperor Theodosius II (428–450 AD). In this unique venue—one of Istanbul's oldest and most impressive historical structures—we offered visitors an immersive experience that revives the past using 360° projection mapping technology.

As part of the project, all columns, walls, and ceiling surfaces of the cistern were mapped with millimeter precision, and high-resolution visual content exceeding 20,000 pixels was produced. Thanks to advanced 3D animations and special effects, the perception of depth within the venue was heightened, creating an atmosphere where visitors can truly feel the history.

With this innovative application that adds great value to Istanbul's cultural tourism, the Theodosius Cistern has been transformed into a pioneering experience space where digital art and historical heritage converge.
